Well- not having seen your setups I can't speak to whether you are doing
anything wrong / bad cable, etc.

As Emax doesn't format more than 20MB, I use 32MB flash and have had no
problems with them.
I can read banks, write banks, boot from the PCD-50B.
Emax 1 keyboard and rack
Emax 2 keyboard

I have used these for the Emax 1:

I sold 37 of the PCD-50b units to group members and with the correct
firmware and correct jumpering these work.
I haven't had any of the 37 units returned....

SO - what firmware is in the units?
You will have to put it in a PC to check it.

I have the updater with firmware that works.
I can potentially post it to the group or put it somewhere and share a link.

But you will have to have a PC to update the drives if they have the wrong
firmware.... disclaimer- I am not responsible if you damage the drives.
