I think perhaps it needs to be stated for folks buying these drives from other sites about its known limits when using the PCD-50b drive in the Emax. I believe I was quite clear in my statements when selling the batch of drives I had, but perhaps the other sites are not explaining the compatibility. Emax is SCSI-1 TARGET only (SCSI ID) based SCSI, which has no support for LUNs. PCD-50b drives are TARGET (SCSI ID) and LUN (Logical Unit Number) based SCSI (which was added in SCSI-2 or SCSI-3 specification). Therefore, Emax can ONLY access TARGET (ID - which is set with the ID jumpers) LUN 0, because it cannot detect or send to specific LUN #s. Where a LUN # isn't specified, a SCSI command will be interpreted by the drive as going to LUN 0. It so happens that the PC Card slot is LUN 0, and therefore that slot works with Emax. No other slot will work in the Emax. The other slots are LUN 1, LUN 2, etc. There is no known way (unless there is a firmware hacker somewhere on the forum) to make a different slot LUN 0. I hope that clears up the misconceptions out there floating about. Regards, Ted [Non-text portions of this message have been removed]
