Re: [emax] EMAX II Display Problems ....

2012-01-28 by Johnny Tomasello

If I understand your problem, I had a similar one when I replaced the backlight in my Emax I. I noticed that not all the letters were displaying correctly, with missing segments. It seemed to me that the display needs to be pushed very tightly against its support for the contacts to work properly. So I put a small sliver of electrical tape, folded, on each side to help the support push more snugly against the display. And that fixed he problem. At first I was hesitant to add something like this, thinking it should work fine the way it was. But while testing the display out of its housing, I did find it needed to be fastened tightly to work correctly. And I was very careful not to add too much pressure. Just enough...

If anyone else has an opinion, I'd be interested to hear an alternate solution.

Good Luck,

John.
