led are much thicker beleive me i know as i have replaced over 20 emax displays
the oled are same thickness but you should find a distibuter in your own country from the manufacturer as that whole saler is distributer for uk
vfd are good and they also have a different connection and so are not drop in they are also a little thicker
the rack you have to cut a hole in the pcb
the keyboard you cant do this as the traces are on the lcd board right behind the lcd screen and you have to trim the back of the emax plastic cover by a couple of mm
once done they sit nice

Any sources? (other than Rapid, as they are prohibitively expensive outside the UK, almost
tripling the cost of the diplay in shipping)
I was planning to use a LED backlight one (modern ones are only about 1mm thicker,
not 9mm). But it has the connector on the tall side so it is more work.
