1) I'm not 100% sure where this refers to? Desoldering pump, right?

2) That is the red small box where all those 16 pins go in, right? So that means I have to desolder them from the display unit so that they're still on the pcb fixed by the red connector box AND THEN soldering them to the new display (sounds easier than I thought before...) BUT ARE THE POSITIONS OF THE CONTACTS PARALLEL?

4) Am I right when I say VFD diplays are much more expensive? They look cool and I'd prefer a VFD... BUT concerning the VFD the position of the contacts aren't the same so that I have to use wires, right? Furthermore I hope that I don't have to "rape" the emax case...
