you are getting confused between the display board and the main board.. the main board holds the relevant ICs and is perfectly interchangeable between keyboard and rack

I have an emax II 2 MB keyboard version
I buy a rack 8 MB and I want to recover the 8 Mb and placed in the keyboard 2 mb and put in the rack the main board is not compatible Between the keyboard and rack version the control panel and not the same
what ic Which Holds the information  ??
