Can't copy OS to emax-formated DS DD disk with EMXP and/or Omniflop

2012-06-02 by windefalk

Hi Emax gurus!

I have read through a lot of threads regarding this topic. It feels like I'm close to a solution but... anyway. Here are my attempts;

1) Got a IBM-PC laptop with floppy disk. This floppy is "on the fly" exchangeable with i.e. a cd-rom player. Forgot what they are called...cradle? Can this be a problem hence to the problems with USB-floppys? (I'm running XP). I read that one had a similar problem with the error code 89. I think it worked for him with another floppy. I will purchase an old computer tomorrow but "everything" works except for copying the OS to disk via EMXP

2) Latest versions of EMXP 2.11.2, omniflop v3.0

3) disabled antivirus program. no removable media plugged in.

4) I can format a DS DD disk to an emax disk. But i can't copy the OS to the disk. I have tried with OS 3.2 and SE 1.1 OS

5) I can copy banks and images to an already formated emax disk (I have like 10 floppys from the seller but no emax OS disk) and they work with the emax. The OS is 3.2 according to EMXP's "Manage OS" on those floppys. I can read, write and format those floppys in EMXP but i can't transfer the OS to a newly formated disk.

4)Omniflop "test installation" gives me 281 supported formats. When I run the "Diagnostics" and "test disk" I got the message "The format is recognized. You can read, write or re-format this disk" I can format a DS DD disk with omniflop.

5) I have read both manuals for EMXP and omniflop. Am I missing something?

6) I cannot format the disk in the emax without an Emax OS disk right?

Someone got an idea?
