Re: [emax] Emax SE Plus (non HD) Need OS 1.0 to support SCSI

Yes, PLUS OS 1.0 is the right OS.
I haven't had any problem with any files from files section on the group.
Sounds like TrendMicro is giving you a false positive.

1) Format a disk in Emax unit
2) Write OS image with EMXP
3) Boot Emax with the new unit.
4) Verify holding "Transpose" shows you a SCSI ID so you could select an external drive ID 1 besides 0

The black caps you can get from EPR Electronics.

Hi Everyone,
I am new to the site and would like to know if anyone can help with my Emax SE Plus (non HD) keyboard ?
I purchased the unit super clean, but no OS disk. So I purchased an OS disk that was for an Emax SE rev. 1.1 and the unit worked. The next thing is that I purchased an Emax library on zip 100 disks. When I hooked up the Zip drive, it wouldn't work. I read through this forum and realized that I actually have a model 2100 Emax SE Plus with SCSI (non HD version). The 'Plus' decal is gone.

So, from what I've read here, I need the OS that supports the SCSI feature. That is the 1.0 OS for Emax SE Plus ? Is that the same one as the one in the files section marked Emax SE Plus HD ? Can anyone direct me to , or can provide the correct OS for my Emax ? I would need the simple method, download it, then burn it to floppy. I only have one pc here that has a floppy drive, it's running XP Pro. I really am not up to par with the EMXP stuff, but I do plan to get there. At this point, I just want to get the SCSI drive and the Zip drive up and running to have some sounds. I did try sampling one of my other synths into the Emax, worked great although I am a complete novice at sampling, I'll learn as I go.
Also, when I tried to access any of the files, my Trend Micro flags it all as 'Dangerous Page'. Is that normal ?
Last of all, the unit I purchased is super clean, however it is missing one of the little black slider caps for the volume. Does anyone have one for sale ?
Long post, thanks for the patience. Any advice would be appreciated.

Regards,
LC
