Re: Emax SE Plus (non HD) Need OS 1.0 to support SCSI

2012-09-11 by loricruzer

Hi,

I downloaded the EMXP on my pc and read through it, at least as far as I could get before meltdown. If I understand correctly, I have to download the Omniflop then the EMXP then go from there.
The problem is that we have two pc's and two laptops here but the only one with a floppy drive is not my personal computer.

I can see that if I want to really use the features of EMXP, then I'll have to buy an extra pc with XP and an internal floppy drive.

At this point , I just need the 1.0 OS for Emax SE Plus on floppy so that I can at least access the sound library that I purchased on Zip 100 disks.

Maybe someone in the user group has one or may be willing to make one for me and send it. I would be more than happy to pay for the material, time, energy, and postage for it.

Again, I'm new here, and I'm not sure how this works or if it's even ok to ask if anyone can just sell me the correct OS disk ?

I plan to keep this unit, so I'll be looking to eventually buy another PC with the correct system just for the Emax. Too bad I can't use my laptop, but according to EMXP, the pc has to have an 'internal' floppy drive.

Anyway, I'm thinking that a lot of group members will see this, maybe someone can supply the disk ? The only thing is that I can't post my personal info. here so they will have to email me direct.

I would really appreciate the help.

Regards,
Lori

In my previous post, I was referring to the User Group's Files where they have one that is 'Emax SE Plus HD' ? Which should I use, are they the same ? I read on EMXP that the OS listed there is enhanced. There is also a disclaimer for usage , which is probably just a matter of protocol.

The next thing is that I purchased an Emax library on zip 100 disks. When I hooked up the Zip drive, it wouldn't work. I read through this forum and realized that I actually have a model 2100 Emax SE Plus with SCSI (non HD version). The 'Plus' decal is gone.

Can anyone direct me to , or can provide the correct OS for my Emax ? I would need the simple method, download it, then burn it to floppy. I only have one pc here that has a floppy drive, it's running XP Pro. I really am not up to par with the EMXP stuff, but I do plan to get there. At this point, I just want to get the SCSI drive and the Zip drive up and running to have some sounds. I did try sampling one of my other synths into the Emax, worked great although I am a complete novice at sampling, I'll learn as I go.
