Re: [emax] Group OLED Buy- WHITE IS FULL, if you want YELLOW respond now.

2012-09-30 by Nik Kinloch

Gosh, this is a feeding frenzy :-)

Good healthy active group though.

Sorry for my misinformation previously regarding the Rapid displays, I
didn't realise they had got different pin outs. Strange they have
changed that, or that the yellow was available in a different format for
a while.

I noticed that the red ones there don't have a data sheet... don't
suppose there is an outside chance that they are the double side header
version?

I don't imagine it is that big a deal to solder the on top connections
to the side, if you are ok with soldering and reading pin outs? I
suppose it is fiddly and more messy than the matching side version
though... also, the side version mechanically supports the display in place.

Another way to do it would be to somehow get or make the version of the
circuit board that is part of the display that has the side connectors,
and just solder on the LED display itself.

FWIW, I like my yellow version just fine. it is easy to read, not tiring
to look at, clear and bright, and is close to the same colour as the
slim floppy LED.
