all the drop in replacements are gone but
you can still fit the oled as you can wire point to point
its not hard to follow
you can also get a cf card reader and put it in an external case and that can be set to scsi ido
scsi zips are expensive for the second hand market and they are not reliable being second hand as they are getting old
i have had my share of the click of death i still own several zip100 and 250 and syquest ez flyer 230
but a nice quiet cf card reader you can use a nice 512mb cf card

Subject: [emax] Re: Emax 1 SE Plus (non HD) SCSI Zip Drive Interface Problem
Hi Jammie,
Thanks again for your support. I'm learning.
I disconnected the Zip parallel drive (bad Lori), and I am in the process of buying the correct SCSI Zip drive from Ebay. I am also making sure that the SCSI cable is the correct one that is original to the drive. I'm not sure if it matters, but I'm thinking, if the drives are different, the cables might be different ?
Once I get the drive, I'll try again. Wish me luck !
It is my goal to eventually get up to snuff with all of the peripheral accessories and support gear for my Emax. My next thing is to try and use EMXP and OMNIFLOP , I just need to get an extra pc with an internal floppy and Windows XP.
I can't help but think that my whole SCSI zip drive thing is like neanderthal, but those are the only sounds that I have for now, the Emax 1 library on zip 100 disks. I'm thinking that once I learn how to use EMXP that should open up more options for samples and more efficient loading ?
I was reading the posts regarding the Oled, could someone tell me is it just a replacement backlight for my display? There is so much interest in it, I'm wondering if I need it for my Emax ?
Thanks again for any and all support.
Regards,
Lori

Unfortunately the connectors of both the SCSI version and Parallel version of the ZIP drive look the same (DB 25 pins) but they are not. I hope you didn't damage the Emax nor the ZIP drive by trying to connect them.

Can you briefly tell me what it is ? I think that once I get out of the woods with my Emax , I might need it down the line ?
