Re: [emax] troubleshooting EMXP

2013-10-21 by Windrum Scoggin

Let me format the floppy on the Emax I HD first
then bring it into EMXP and see if I can lay the plus
OS onto the disk that way.
Before I rolled back the OmniFlop OmniFDC controller driver I kept getting the above error messages and Omniflop wouldn't see the disk at all
so we are a step in the right direction so far

Bascially it is an exclamation dialog

that says
"unknown error processing message C0000014 Parameters 75b6bf7c 75b6bf7c "
This all happened before I removed the OmniFdd.sys driver and rolled
back to the standard windows FDD controller

Omniflop had problems with it too. I then went into OmniFlop and formatted
a floppy within it, after rolling back the OmniFdd Floppy Controller Driver
and I did get OmniFlop to actually see the floppy and format it.
I did a 'test installation' using OmniFlop and got a message reading drive good and it "supports 281 predefined formats yada yada"
I then did a 'Format Write routine using the Plus OS disk as the source
and it did go through the routine and Formatted as well as wrote the disk.
I then did a 'test disk' diagnostic with OmniFlop and it tested out ok
"format Recongnized"
I then placed it into the Emax I HD Fdd and cold booted
and it says "disk not formatted!"
So, hell, I don't know...lets start from scratch here, maybe I will try it you way, Ted

You can't attach a pic to a mail to the group.

You would have to put it in the group files, or in your mail provide a link to the picture.

esynthesist is a member on the group and is the developer of EMXP and you can contact him directly through his website also…

With that said- I have never tried formatting a floppy with EMXP.
Usually I format a floppy on the EMAX, then use EMXUTIL or EMX (or EMXP) to write the OS file to the already formatted disk.

Have you tried that?

built an XP system from the ground up with two FDD drives.
Installed a fresh copy of XP 32 bit and installed the OmniFlop drivers

When I go to do a FDD format
(trying to make Emax Plus OS DISK
for myself and others so we can plugs SCSI
Zips into our Emax and load banks etc via SCSI)
I get an error in EMXP. I have no idea what this error code
means or what could be wrong.
see attached pic
any help greatly appreciated.
I'd love to help the users out in the group but
if I don't get EMXP cutting FDD's soon
i am gonna be
SOL
Thanks
