in this way you have taken OMNIFLOP and Windows out of the picture- pure dos and the EMX and EMAXUTIL are doing raw writes to the disk.... now if THAT doesn't work it basically confirms the fdd hardware incompatibility / problem.now boot off the dos disk again and run EMX and using the menu choose to write the OS file to the DSDD disk.
I have successfully used TEAC, Mitsumi, and SONY floppy drives to write Emax disks.
My PC mobo is an MSI with Intel Pentium 4 2.66 Ghz
But it shouldn't be the motherboard itself, honestly because I have also used a mobo with a Via CPU (the chipset maker, not even AMD!!!) and the DOS programs worked fine and wrote the Emax disks....
now whether that combo would have worked with EMXP I couldn't know....
Did you try the dos route I suggested before?
format the DSDD in Emax
using dos 6.22 exe create that 1.44MB floppy
Verify computer boots to dos
go back to windows and remove extra dos files so there is enough space (remove like deltree, attrib, etc leaving only the files I specified in that other mail).
and put the files (EMX, EMAXUTIL, PLUS OS - only the unzipped ones not the zips) there on drive A: on HD floppy disk.

Oh
Really!?, I just formatted the disk on my Emax!
Hi
I am not sure my problem is with the FD disks I am using or with WinXP or simply a bad FDD issue (really, tried four different floppy disk drives) or an EMXP motherboard incompatibility but
It just ain't working..not with Floppy disks, my internal ZIP disk, or Flash cards either.
In using FD's marked HD on the upper right of the disk I get all kinds of errors.
DSDD disks just don't work either. EMXP can't see em, even if they were previously formatted in my Emax I HD running SE rev1.1
I also installed and tried 4 different floppies drives on two different winXP machines and keep getting errors in EMXP even though the Emax HD I own formats them just fine as does OmniFlop (with Omniflop drivers installed, of course).
For example I will format the floppy disk in OmniFlop and install an OS from the usergroup on the disk.
All goes well.
I then open EMXP
Click
1) Manage Emax images
7) Manage Emax floppy disks
Enter the drive letter as 'A'
3) Manage OS on floppy disk
(Since OmniFlop just
