EMAX I 16 levels?(MPC)

EMAX I 16 levels?(MPC)

2015-02-02 by ozgoskar@...

Hi guys im wondering how can i setup a sample to 16 levels on my mpc? doing this by choosing a pad in mpc doesnt work, the pitch doesnt change. so i guess i need to turn note var tuning on my emax first, now the problem is how do i do this? THX.

If you want to change the pitch in relation to the note which is send by your MPC you have to change the
org. key in Preset definition / edit assignment (2).

Nope i mean 16 levels from the mpc i know this is possible on the emax. It means the same sample on 16pads and every pad has diffrent pitch. Lets take bass as a example. I want to play it from my emax.

16 levels button will only control affect the MPC, not external gear. if you want a similar way to control your external sampler then you need to make a new PROGRAM and assign the pads to notes in ascending order. Then from the Main screen set that that as the program and set your midi output to external device 1a.. Save the program to use as your default program so you can pull it up quickly later when you want to do the same thing again..

I think you have to turn the bass sample onto 16 tunings. Then you need to look in the .pgm settings I think to turn off Pad to Internal sounds and set the midi receive channel there also (I think!), then it plays as a sound module. Make sure the midi rcv is the same as the Emax transmit.

I think 16 levels spits out the same midi note if assigned to a midi out, would be cool if it sent pitchbend data to it, although it would affect the whole program.

Easy way, Sample the Emax note into the MPC, press 16 levels, play emax sample from MPC.

Do the opposite too, bouncing samples from the MPC to the emax or between 2 samplers wth different strengths is great work flow.

You can't pitch bend the sample, although you can change the pitch with the note variation slider. It can't bend during playback though, the new pitch starts from the beginning of the sample only. The note variation slider responds to CC messages as well.

You just need to save it to a pc formatted floppy (or card if you have a card reader) then you can load to the MPC from the floppy

Move to quarantaine

This moves the raw source file on disk only. The archive index is not changed automatically, so you still need to run a manual refresh afterward.
