Carl-

This has happened recently in the past.
Sometimes his ISP has problems.

Keep trying- I would expect within a week or two he will be connected again.

KEEP CALM and DON'T PANIC.

Hi Ted,

Thanks for the information,

I was expecting my emax back before Xmas does anyone have a contact number for him?

Thanks

Carl

Carl-

No I don't think anyone does. People have "called him out" a couple of times only to have their items show up / contact from him that work is done and having to apologize for comments made in the forums.
Be patient.

Hi Ted,

I do not understand what your referring but the trouble with waiting is he has no return address and i've made a initial payment already on the 10th of December and will make the final payment plus return postage when the work is complete.

if i cant get in touch with him how can the above happen?

Jammie when you see this message on the forums can you please contact me as i cannot reach your email address.

Thanks

Carl

Re: [emax] Re: Jammie emma, i cannot reach

Carl-

The only response I can say is you should have (via private message) gotten all the contact info (phone numbers, etc) before you ever sent your package.

Then you can also speak to the other person and they can set the expectation of time to repair, etc.
If something comes up (billing concerns, time estimates, etc), you can call and work it out.

When someone is sending me their board or something if they want my info I give it… I've spoken to persons in Washington, Georgia, California, and Chicago…even a caller from Germany one time…. it's really not that complicated.

As a customer, If I can't get that kind of info (they refuse to give it) I don't go through with the transaction.
I really don't think Jammie would have refused you the info….

I understand you may be frustrated about it, but remember that the frustration is because you didn't do your own "due diligence"...

People rely WAY too much on email…. then when someone doesn't get a response "right now! " it's like the other person is ignoring them when likely that isn't the case…

No i dont think jammie is ignoring me if you would have read my initial email
i said my emails are not getting delivered to jammie meaning there being bounced back with a failure notice.

So he does not even know i am emailing him as there not getting delivered.

True, but I do think if you want to be respected fully you respond within 24 business hours (barring unusual circumstances).

Remember it wasn't too long ago when we had only telephone and postal mail. There was no such thing as a delayed response. Makes you wish we could go back to those days - but I'd never trade it for what we have now, of course - AS LONG as people respond to emails within 24 hours. Most of the time people do - that's a good thing.

Jammie's a good communicator (except for his SHIFT key being broken all the time) =) so he'll be back soon.

Garth it works both ways

When they want something from me they want me to answer straight away but wheni email for payment or even parts money I get no response from them for several weeks

I thought I notified wvery one I would be away and I was away longer due to having got back late I had to stop off for the night and stay 200 miles from where I live to travel down the next day

I also posted a message to the group explaining that I was producing musoc projects and that I would be stopping servicing apart from my long term customers and studio contracts

As im getting to busy and im on my travels around the world meeting new people and contacts

I have several clients left to finish then I will be done and on to better things

Thanks jammie

Right - to be clear I was commenting on Ted's comment that "people rely WAY too much on email" not on your circumstance. Glad your time was fun!

I was not pointing at you garth

Was just stating that some people call wolf rather than actually try to contact you

Then when you try to contact them they dont reply at all for weeks and weeks

Im glad that ill be doing what we have this equipment for and that is to make music and ill be able to keep my 100+ pieces working in tip top condition and I have been building the 3 studio's to my design and will know the rooting imside out

Which makes producung and interfacing a breeze

For a while I will do consultation and help via email but with interviews and working on new records my time for it will be less and less

You will still have ted who is very capable to carry on the great work with emaxes and I will be sending the finished
Drive when complete which will be my legacy to the group

Peace

Ted, Garth and Jammie need to be cloned.....(i thank you guys for being accessible resources of knowledge) Speaking of music creation.

Have anybodys used the PADsynth Algorithm " It generates a perfectly looped wavetable sample which can be used in instruments"

http://zynaddsubfx.sourceforge.net/doc/PADsynth/PADsynth.htm

I know the Emax can't do wavetable looping but maybe the others that can might be suitable.

Re: [emax] Re: Jammie emma, i cannot reach

You can use them in the emax

Just save as wav file then use emxp to make a emax sample from them you can save them

In 16k 32k 64k 128k 256k

The only problem is that they start at sample 1 and loop from sample 1 and the loop from last sample emax or most emu samplers dont allow this

Because of the interpolation engine it needs several samples before sample end and needs samples before loop start its also used in the sf2 format and the sample even after truncation will leave
About 32 samples after loop end

So you will need an editor to accomplish this

Hi I have the slimline floppy converter and drive, I was hoping there was a way to get you to modify the slimline converter for me. I've had this emax for a couple years and once the drive died, I've been stuck. is there chance you could help or recommend someone who might?
Thanks

The modification instruction is posted on the same site as the EMAX FAQ:

click on the pics to get the larger image up to clearly see the mod.

Anyone with a bit of soldering skill can perform this mod as it's cuts of a couple traces and 2 wires added, that's it.
magnifying glass recommended to make the work easier…
