Emax II and Emax disks

2003-07-11 by Kevin Kelley

It is my understanding that the emax II can read the emax I library.
If you place a emax I bank in the memory of an emax II and save it to
a new disk would it still be able to be read on the emax I? I would
like to archive my emax I library on a emax II but I was concerned
that it may no be able to be read if transferred back to the original
format.

Thanks

When you use the normal SAVE on Emax II, Emax I will not read the
data, also you would need two floppies instead of one, because it´s
16 bit data then, Emax I cannot handle multi-disk banks, it has only
512k Ram as you know. You must use the SAVE AS COMPRESSED BANK (i.e.
Emax I format) function of Emax II (see also manual). Hope this
helps. Nice weekend. Regs Rascal

Move to quarantaine

This moves the raw source file on disk only. The archive index is not changed automatically, so you still need to run a manual refresh afterward.
