EMX Issues?

EMX Issues?

2003-09-28 by hartmaan2003

Hi,
I am new to this Emax group and have just bought a secondhand EmaxII.
I have been using an EPS for my sampler. I had easily mastered the
downloading and copying of Net samples to load into that using a EPS
disk program - But this EMX prog has me stumped. i have searched and
read all the info on this newsgroup and followed the instructions.

But I am having some problems with the EMX program. I have followed
all the instructions and when run under Dos6.2 I get the error "No
reponse from drive" after I enter the .em1 file name ZD700.em1. If I
hit key again I get "Sector not found", then jump back to main menu.
But under windows XP running in a Dos box(This was a last ditch
attempt) I can run the program and sucessfully copy an em file to
floppy - But after it has loaded in the Emax II it does not sound
correctly, sort of multi delay effects etc temelo and weirdness. Do I
need to have the emaxos file in the emx folder on c: to copy files?
or just to format and copy os (this is how I read it)

Any help would be appreciated....failing to get this to work means I
have only one sample "Stereo Grand 1" which came in the EMax when I
bought it :-(

How I do it is I have an Emax directory with EMX in it and all Banks of
sounds.

IIRC you need an old DOS for it to work properly, my old laptop runs it
great, my newish desktop doesn't.
