Hi there, i live in germany and i am looking for a emax sampler cuz of it´s 12 bit sound. can you give me a little help about the price? I saw it for 500 euro but a secondhand-pricelist tells me only about 200 euro. Btw.: Is there any better sampler -besides the sp1200- that has that "12 Bit MagicSound" ? thanx phono;)

Hi Phonophobie I'm not sure about the current Emax second hand price. But beside the Emax/SP1200 the Emulator II have a distinct 8/12 bit sound. The EII is a mono machine and sounding somewhat different than the Emax. Best regards and good hunting Brian phonophobie <sidstation@...> wrote: Hi there, i live in germany and i am looking for a emax sampler cuz of it´s 12 bit sound. can you give me a little help about the price? I got mine for $125 USD on E-bay. It came with 100+ disks. Any given 12-bit sampler will give you "that sound"- the E-max, Emulator II, Akai S-900 or S-950 (you lose the analogue filter but gain time-stretching). You may want to check out the Akai S-612. I have one that I got for only $30 USD on E-bay a while back. It's mega lo-fi, and only gives you 10 seconds at the lowest, muddiest, crunchiest sampling rate, but it's got an analogue filter and fun "splicing" sliders that you can move while the sample plays to give you crazy squeals and stutters. If it is a HD SE I'd consider getting it. I fixed one for a friend which sold for about 380 US. I got mine (after falling in love with his ;) for 170. HD SE scsi ready. I just got the parts in, now I just need to find the time and patience to do the drilling. Ed
