Emax

I Adquired an EmaxII without nothing of disk. 
The simpton are the next:
It has Hard Drive 506 Mb with few sounds (piano,bells,guitar)
I tried format a ds-dd disk (hard to find in mexico) and marked always disk error. Then take a Floppy 1.44Mb and the emaxII can formatted it! 
I made some test to the disk formatted saving the banks and OS and work fine.
I tried with the EMX trouhg MS-DOS 6.22 and all the disks that i proccesed mark disk error!
Probably my floppy Drive don´t work well but I can save my sounds.
Later I probe transfering the sound by MIDI with Soundforge 6.0.
The banks are in .em1 format (I download from you thanks =) ).
I translated the EM1 to .WAV by Cooledit (using mono option and 16 bits) then go for the Sound Forge and ....it transefers MIDI to the EMAXII 
when the transference stops my EMAX says: Transference of Sounds completed and the led enter clips. When Push the button there aren't New sound.I consulted the SDS reference but where are the voices?

How did you try to format it? On an Emax or EMX on a PC?

Then take a Floppy 1.44Mb and the emaxII can formatted it!

EMX can not work with a 1.44 floppy period, even if it has been formatted on an Emax 
already.

let's see several things can be happening. first are you using the sub-outs only? when 
an SDS sample arrives it is sent to the Main output only.  Also the manual has incorrect 
SDS assignments I just uploaded a file to the file section that has the correct SDS 
assignments.
