Hi Phono

If your Emax has a harddrive installed you should be able to save your work on bank 01 which is the first bank on the harddrive. If you can't then the bank on the HD might be corrupt. Try to save a test bank on any of the other 36 banks.

If you don't have a HD you need to save your bank on bank 00 which is the floppy. If it doesn't work then try with a different DS/DD floppy disc. Don't use high density floppies.

Hope this helps

Brian

Re: Error & Question about Sampling

2004-01-22 by phonophobie

well, i dont have a hd ( avctally i was thinking about getting me a
zipdrive maybee soon )

the problem i had was about that se disk used - i downloaded it from
the files area here ( se bios disk ). everytime i tried to save my
work when booting from this disk, emax tried to save to bank 01 ( ? ).

however i found an se disk at my little disk collection and made me a
new formated se disk with it. now it works :)

...

I just wonder about the keyrange when sampling. When i sample at
original note C6 it is possible to use the whole keyrange down to C1.
( i know the sound at C1 is only bites and bytes then;) )
But when i am trying to sample at original note C1 the emax only
gives me a very limited keyrange - like up to F2 - depends on
sampling rate.
why is this ? hmmm.

How did the SE update from the web file work? I tried it on a friend's machine and it started flashing on all LED's.

I'm back!

2004-01-22 by John Silveria

My apologies to everyone if my absence has been noticed, though it probably hasn't,
ever since I moved to Virginia and got Direcway last April I have had nothing but issues,
the recent cold weather has left me without internet for the better part of 2 months. I just
approved 6 new members and look forward to getting more involved this year now that I
have my studio set back up.

Re: [emax] Re: Error & Question about Sampling

It sounds like you had an SE HD diskette so it was erroring thinking it was going to find
bank 01 (the hard drive) once you got a plain non-HD SE diskette then it was fine. Even
though you can boot a non-HD unit with a HD operating system it is going to run into
errors anytime a function is told to look for the hard drive.
