Emax 2 and Sound Designer/Alchemy Help Requested

Emax 2 and Sound Designer/Alchemy Help Requested

2004-11-30 by John

Hello all, hope your holiday was great.

My Holiday was great and punctuated with happiness since my new EMAX
arrived!

I just purchased an EMAX II with 2mb, keyboard. It does not have an
internal hard drive so I'm purchasing a SCSI ZIP drive for it. I
have an EMAX II 4mb rack with a hard drive installed. Is it possible
to hook up the two samplers via a cable and tranfer my favorite
samples from one machine to the other via SCSI or the RS ports?
Maybe I'm missing something simple but a floppy transfer would put me
in a coma!

I've looked through the files section and found the software editors
I need for my Mac SE/HD. Now, perhaps another silly question, but
how do I get them from the files section onto a floppy and into my
MAC SE? I'm using a Windows XP machine as I speak. It will not do
anything with an old 720k floppy without trying to format it. Will
my old lil mac recognize a XP/PC formatted diskette with the .sit
file on it?

I'm considering building a DOS machine from an old Pentium II box I
have in order to run the EMX software which I have yet to figure out
completely. Would I be on the right track investing time in such?

I'm soooooo close to a dream setup I can taste the tunes pooring
forth. ANY help in the attainment of my dream setup would be
rewarded with the highest appreciation, praise and thanks!

Regards to all!

H E L P ! I'm on the edge of delight!

I think that hooked together via SCSI the 2Mb should see and be able to read/write from
the 4Mb hard drive. It's just a guess though. My ESi-32 can access the internal drive of
4Mb rack model and import banks directly from the hard drive. Just make sure that the
Zip and The internal Drive are not on the same SCSI ID #
