Emax

I am finally going to buy an Apple Mac to start some sample editing 
for my Emax II.  Thinking of using Alchemy and Sound Designer II.  
Can anyone give me a recommendation of a Mac to buy that will work 
with these programs.  I would like to get a laptop Mac or maybe an 
imac just for size issues but I know nothing about Macs. I am only 
going to use the mac for sample editing so I don't need it to do 
anything else.
