Emax II external HD / Iomega 1Go

2006-01-09 by poumpoumchak

Hello,

I should like to use a Iomega 1Go disk with my Emax II.
Is it possible ?
When i connect it on scsi port #1 of Emax with the scsi id1 on the iomega, the emax says
Scsi #1 not found.
Is here someone who uses the Iomega 1go hd ?

Thanks in advance
Thierry

Hi Thierry

Unfortunately I think that the Emax II's operating system is to old for the Iomega 1 Gb drive. But be sure you use the latest OS which is 2.14. Look here for additional information:

  http://www.emulatorarchive.com/Samplers/Emax2Overview/Emax2Drives/emax2drives.html

I'm using a Zip100 drive for the Emax II and that works very well.

  Best regards

Hello Brian,

Thanks for the answer and the link...no Iomega 1Go in the list..
But the Iomega 1Go and Zip100/250 are nearly of the same period
(late90' - 2000)
Does the Zip 250 also reads the 100 disks? (I have some)

I used a 2.13 (not 2.14) systeme. So I loaded from the archive an image
disk for mac (thanks to emaxjs) and shall try again with 2.14,

I will let you know

Thierry

Hello,

Thanks Bob for the precision. It will be great for me to use my old 100
G0 disks.
I took a look at ebay to find a zip 250.
The seller of a scsi one answered me that it can only be set in
position 5 or 6 on the scsi chain.
Is that model compatible with the Emax? (I saw in a previous post that
some ones weren't)
