Help!?!?

Help!?!?

2006-01-08 by phili4blunts

i pulled my floppy drive from my mpc 2000xl. it has a big jumper
block. while i was searching google on how to switch it to disk 0 so
that i can use it in my emax i found this
http://web.archive.org/web/20031211054018/http://www.teac.com/DSPD/pdf/3fd0020a.pdf

this is all confusing to me... do i take out all the white or black
things on the pins of the jumper or do i leave some in certain places
on the jumper block? and then set it how??? can someone help me out
please it would be greatly appreciated. sorry if my explaination sucks
but i dont know the techincal terms about the guts of computer parts.

Usually there are 2 or 3 jumper pins used on a drive- but only 1 changes the
drive between ds1 and ds0(the setting the Emax requires) Check on the back
of the drive- many with have some type of small chart outlines the jumper
pins and their settings. Hope this helps...

i follow you a bit... dont think i'll find an outline of how to set it
to ds0. if you check the diagram theres 4 pins across but on mine
there seems to be a whole row missing vertically... would that make a
difference? cause i know the drive works. i used it before i got my
zip drive.

You mention there seems to be a row missing vertically. Are you sure there
isn't a plastic jumper across the row?
You might have to get on the web and find a tech document for your model of
floppy. In it will have the info on how to changes the DS# from 1 to 0.
