syncing emax and 606

2006-06-04 by aprea

hello all,
sorry if this seems dumb or has been discussed before.
Is the clock output signal coming from an emax rack something i can use
to drive, say, a tr606 in sync?
If it is meant to be used with stereo plugs carrying both clock and
start/stop it should work i say.
Have you anything to say at this regard?

many thanks in advance
davide

does the 606 even have a clock input? I don't think so, It's all DIN SYNC.

Maybe if the emax has a clock input you can drive the emax from the 606.

If i understand correctly:
Yes the drive can be replaced. A normal floppy drive must be modified
to be DS0 with a jumper to work. Most drives will not just work (they
are DS1), and must be modified. Older floppy drives have a jumper,
newer drives do not... on new drives everything is soldered on the
board with small "surface-mount" pieces that require a little skill
to properly modify. route66.com has replacement drives if you do not
have technical skill / knowledge to modify a replacement drive
yourself. The route66 drive is a drop in replacement (remove cover
from emax. Unplug 2 wires, plug in two wires, replace cover, and you
are done). -Emax works again.

Hope that helps clear up what to do,
Ted

Re: [emax] Re: drive floopy disk

hello Ted,
debtor for the explanation! I tried to place one drive older than I have here, but I find that I must not have placed jamper in the certain position. With this drive substitute the keyboard obtains to read the floppy, but it appears in the screen the message: floppy not formatted. You it would know to say something to me on the accurate rank it to jamper?
   Debtor,
               [ ] 's
                     Paulo Garcia.
They forgive the English (I am of Brazil) and I am using an automatic translator.

Re: [emax] Re: drive floopy disk

2006-06-05 by ted Summers

Problem is normal floppy drive formats to 1.44M size. Emax formats
floppy to only half of that -720k size. Normal floppy has jumper set
to DS1 (disk #1). Emax floppy is jumpered to DS0 (disk #0). Look for
jumper labeled DS0 or DS1. Normally, jumper will be on DS1- but for
Emax, move jumper to DS0. Also- all floppies MUST be DSDD (720k), not
DSHD (1.44M). To use a HD disk, you must cover the hole in the corner
(not the hole for write-protect - no writing of floppy, but the hole
in the other corner).

Hopefully that will help you.
