EMAX outputs distorting

Hi All, I have a bit of a long story, so I'll give you the short version. I decided to sell my EMAX Rack, shipped it out, it arrived DOA, buyer returned it, and I am trying to revive it. So far I have gotten it back into working condition, except that all the outputs are distorting horribly, and there are missing notes at times. According to the diagnostics guide, it would be either the E-Chip, the E-Chip clock, or the 74HCT174 data latch, with the E-Chip being the most likely culprit based on my symptoms. I tried calibrating the E-Chip Clock, and when its fully counterclockwise, there are no more missing notes, and the distortion is not quite as horrid sounding. So that leads me further to believe that it is indeed the E-Chip. My question to you all is does anyone have any experience with this issue, or do you know anyone that does that would be able to give me guidance (or better yet, fix the thing)? Or, do you have a lead on replacement E-Chips or 74HCT174 chips? Or maybe a spare parts EMAX laying around? Also, I don't know how relevant this is, but the buyer found that there was a loose part rattling around in the case (damned UPS - and they denied the claim...). It was the heatsink on the digital board, (its near the ribbon cable connector to the analog board) with an attached chip marked RCA TIP29 V8619. Anyway, I soldered it back on, but it did no good. Is this possibly related to my issues? What does that chip do? Any sources for a replacement? Thanks in advance! Mark
