Hi Group,
I have just accuired an emax hd. I am too new to know how to really use it,
make or load disc, etc. I do have a manual to spend some time with tho :)

Reason for this post is that I have quite a few samples on syquest and cd's
in esi and EOS format, and some audio.
--Is there an easy way to load (or copy) these,
or does everything I want to use with the emax need to be resampled to
discs?
Can the "computer interface" be used for this? or??
I will be willing to trade sounds if and when I figure out how!
Thanx, Robert

You won't be able to load any of your sounds directly into the Emax from Syquests or
CDs. You can use a computer to load the sounds from an EOS or ESI sampler and then
send them to the Emax that way, but it can be mono samples only. To connect the Emax
to your computer for file transfer you can use MIDI Sample Dumps (SDS) or if you use a
Mac you can also use the computer interface. To use the computer interface you will
need to build a cable, the pin-out diagram is available from my site in the Emax II FAQ
and it also requires you use an old version of Passports Alchemy that includes an Emax
module. If you use a PC you will need software that supports MIDI SDS, programs like
Sound Forge and Awave seem to be the most popular
