to elaborate:
im using cubase with this and it shows midi in and out
in the sequencer. I hear sound when i play offmy
keyboard but not playback although it shows that the
sequences got recorded. I have no problems using a
soft synth with the same emax. I figure its on teh
emax's end.

Could be your midi receive channel on the Emax is not the same as the Cubase
transmitted channel.
You have to have Supermode on if you want to receive on more than
one midi channel.

How about using the MIDI analyzer built-in to the Emax I and II to
troubleshoot?

Or reading the manual? ;-)

I cant figure it out and ive tried a variety of things.
my sequencer shows input and output activity. it actually works fine with my software
sytnhs but not getting playback from the emax. Ive tried midi channel/supermode
combos but still nada.
