B3 BANK

2008-05-19 by Chip

Tired of the crappy hammond sound in your emax?

I hope you enjoy this Hammond B3 bank.

I've made it by sampling the NI B3, and crossfading loops with my
sound editor.

There are 20 samples, 10 of a fast rotor sound and other 10 are
OverDrive sound.

I've made some combinations between this sounds in 4 and 8 voices (I
recommend the 4 voices stereo presets).

The image contain the following presets and sequences:

P00: B3 Fast
P01: B3 OD
P02: Fast & OD
P03: Fast8" OD16"
P04: Fast16" OD8"
P05: Fast-OD 8V
P06: F8" OD16" 8V
P07: F16" OD8" 8V
P08: OD>F ModWhl
P09: Fast 8"16" 8V
P10: OD 8" 16" 8V
P11: B3 Bank
P99: xtr909x@...

S00: Jizzlobber (faith no more song)

Enjoy and commet about it!

Hi Chip,

I don't have a working floppy drive in my computer (i
tried installing one but whatever I did, it did not
work, so i can sadly not transfer samples from the
emax).

Do you have the sounds as wav / aiff files as well?

would be great,
all the best,
Pete

Hi Chip

I'm getting a Bad Bank on Disk from the download. Also different software rev.
Tried formatting in emx and Emax and tried importing to both Emax & Emax II
Have to use an old 98 desktop and it's painfully slooooooooow ! could be a problem there ...
Shame EMXP doesn't support usb floppy drives

mm let's see

the different OS rev problem resides in your floppy disk (must have
the same OS of your first booted disk.

And for bank writting I STRONGLY recommend using E-Synthesist's EMXP
soft (latest verion here:
http://users.skynet.be/emxp/EMXP_v2_05_1.zip ).

I've tested the bank in my 2 Emax (they floppy drives works totally
different one of the other) writed from the HD one, the SE one and
from EMXP, and works without any problems.

FOR MANICPETER: I can send you the waves, but you have to transfer
and assing all the 20 samples, but I've been spending some time to
make the presets sound cool and making variations. So, if you want to
do all the work again, let me know and I send you the samples. (again
I say USE EMXP!!!)

Re: [emax] Re: B3 BANK

2008-05-19 by Lyn Oakey

Chip

There is something very strange going on with this bank !

If I try to load it, either as a bank, or from the Preset Management - Load Preset,
my meters on the Desk go into extreme overload and it sounds like a jet about to take of !!!!!
This is as it's trying to load ........

Now, I've formatted from the Emax and not from EXP.
Outside chance that my download is corrupted. I'll give it another go
It's funny because only a month or so ago I imported some Harp files in the same way
using Win 98 and not taking any special measures - it worked fine .......

I cannot use my laptop with Win XP because EMXP
does NOT support a USB floppy drive according to the read me file !

Can anyone else confirm it's working ok ?

Hi Chip,

thank you for your mail,

yes, I totally understand that I will loose all your
nice preset settings but I would still like to have a
go, so if you could send them to me, that would be
great!!! Are you after any sounds yourself that I
could help you out with?

best,
PR

Re: B3 BANK

2008-05-19 by Chip

ok, i'm making a rar with the voices on it.

by now, i have the entire library in cd and almost 60% copied in
floppy disks, but THANK YOU anyway.

as you can see, i'm always looking for good hammond w/leslie
emulations

it's the only weak point in emax.

as i said before, THANK YOU!

PS; do you a list or something with the sounds that you have?

Hi Chip,

got your sounds! absolutely great!
I don't have a list with sounds I have but I am trying
to get most of them into my akai mpc 1000 as
instrument s.

I have a nice Farfisa which i sampled myself, ill send
it to you as wav and mpc 1000 program. I know farfisa
is cheap but it's quite sweet this one...

best.
Pete
