Emax Sound Bands and HD images

2008-05-25 by Ted Summers

I am working on getting all the Factory sound banks onto compact
flash. My plan is to save off the HD images with EMXP when I am
finished. If there is interest I will then upload the full set of HD
images onto the web for download. However, it appears some floppy
images hosted out there on the websites are either incorrect,
corrupt, or some just not available?

Does anyone have a full set and willing to help me in this endeavor?
Or some of the "missing" or corrupt banks?

I have the first 35 (except for I think it was 706 that isn't
available anywhere) on one CF, and have hit quite a few gaps in the
second set of thirty five.....

I didn't want to continue on building the second CF until I am sure
there is no way I can get that complete set of next 35 banks.

Regards,
Ted

What sounds does 706 contain ?

I've noticed of late that the dragonslair site has gone down.
That was the best resource I knew of.

No idea either. I still have my original box of 10 disks that came
with my 1988 Emax. It has ZD700 thru ZD710, minus ZD706.

I would guess it was skipped.

FYI, here's what I have:

ZD712
ZD713
ZD714
ZD715
ZD716
ZD717
ZD718
ZD719
ZD721
ZD722
ZD724
ZD725
ZD726
ZD732
ZD733
ZD734
ZD735
ZD739
ZD741
ZD742
ZD754
ZD761
ZD762
ZD764
ZD770
ZD773
ZD776
ZD779A
ZD780A
ZD781A
ZD786A
ZD787
ZD789A

I'm 99% sure they're all working (floppies).

I have also made them into two ZIP disks.

Let me know how I can help.

Re: [emax] Emax Sound Banks and HD images

2008-05-25 by Ted Summers

So far I have:
ZD700-735 (except 06 which sounds like it doesn't exist)
ZD736-ZD744

ZD745 I do not have....

ZD746-49 I have and seem OK.

That is where things start to go off track....

I have more disks made, but haven't tested all for the second set of
35 yet.

I will do that in the next day or two and update you folks on which I
have that are not good, and which are OK.

Then I will be proceeding onto the third set.

Thanks for the responses so far.

Regards,
Ted

BTW I have the Baldwin IKE clone. I have the factory disks that came
with it. But all the titles are not the same as other known Emax disks.

Are the same titled disks different than the standard Emax Factory
disks? On the differently titled disks, would someone be able to
confirm them to the standard Emax disk #s?

ZD201 IKE Sampler Disk
ZD202 9FT. Concert Grand
ZD203 Organ and Other Keyboards
ZD204 Baroque & Orchestral Instruments
ZD205 Hand Bells & Vibes
ZD206 Synth Collage
ZD207 Chimes & Female Voice
ZD208 Harmonic Synthesis Devel Disk
ZD209 Arco Strings
ZD210 Contemporary Sounds

I have to make a photo copy of my sound library disk catalog, it came with the manual.
Yes that's right, disk #ZD741 is Tenor Sax too with 3 separate styles of solo tenor saxophone 12 presets/6 sequence, but the samples/presets/sequences are not the sameas those on #ZD706.

Previous reply is correct. If you search previous posts by me, you
can also find a regular sony model MPF-920 that would work too with 1
modification (mentioned in that post). Keeping in mind there will be
a gap as it does not take the full height of the bay, so I made a
bracket in my case (no longer used since I put in CF and Laptop
floppy both into that space).

I took a standard internal 3.5 floppy drive for the PC and re-soldered the ID to 0 and it worked fine. I am very curious as to how you adapted the CF reader/drive the your EMAX. I would love to do that if there are instructions available. : )
