New Emax II Owner

New Emax II Owner

2008-10-24 by pauldays1

Hello Group,

Yup, made it, finally an Emax II owner, just waiting for delivery. I
know nothing about the Emaxes so feel free to offer me tips and
advices. I bought it with sound libraries, but I do feel I will be
needing some more. I plan on playing some depeche mode covers, any
directions would be great too.

Cheers,

Paul

As a person who made a small living performing as an 80's synthpop cover
act your biggest issue will be which DM covers you decide to try for.
They did not use any factory sounds as far as I could ever tell and
though they used the Emax line live, in the studio they were using other
samplers like the E-III and higher end gear, then just resampling the
results into the Emax for live use. So it won't be so much about having
the Emax itself as your ability to recreate their sounds on your own.

Thanks John,

Oh we all know that covers won't be 100% exact, in case there are
sounds I make that I like better. I currently do "It's No Good,
Behind the Wheel, Never let me down, Enjoy the Silence, Strangelove,
and such". I also have in the family a Macbook, M-Audio Midi
Controller, and a Roland RS-70. I do a more "Modern" DM Cover, since
I perform with a group which "invites" me to play keyboard. The have
a drummer, bassist and 2 guitars, so.

But sometime you know, it doesn't hurt to ask LOL. Personlly, it take
me weeks to get a sound right, and days to learn to play the song!!! LOL.

Paul
