I've just found a 2mb Emax II upgrade disc in a pile of discs I've been given..

Hello all,

I can't tell if this disc has been used, but I think it might be an idea for someone who really
knows what they are doing to see if they can copy it.
I've seen a few recent posts, but as a Mac user I'm not in a position to copy the disc myself.
If the disc hasn't been used it would be a shame to make a mistake while copying it.
If anybody wants to give it a go, please let me know.

All the best

Dave

The daughter board and the Ram will work I'm sure, but I doubt you can
tell your Rack then it has 8 MB now, unless the disk you have is
fresh, if it was used to update your 8 MB model once (which I guess,
then why would you have it then ?) you cannot use it because something
was written onto it that makes it unusable, goin' from your words you
already seem to know that. But maybe somebody has a valid copy of such
disk, hmmm.

Hello,

The disc I've got came from someone else when I was given a pile of discs.....it may not
have been used already.
So can I just plug the daughter board into my Emax II keyboard and it will work? or will I
need to get hold of the special disc to install the daughter board?

All the best

Dave

I'm sure it works (board, RAM). But was there an extra disk regarding
the daughter board in addition to the Ram upgrade disk ? That then has
to be answered by someone else, it's out of my mind. Regarding the
disk you have there I'm sure you cannot do damage to the unit, if disk
was used it will simply not work. Maybe someone can enter and say if
it's swapable anyhow, have you checked if the size would fit ?
Is there actually more to boards then motherboard and daughterboard ?
If it's same size and fits into rack it's maybe just that, a simple
swap and it'll work just like your keys-model did, huh ? An assumption ;-)
