Hi Everybody and Happy Holidays!

I'm just now on the list! It's great to be in the loop here. I'm trying to resurrect my Emax HD SE. All of the floppies and Syquest backup of the drive were destroyed in a move. My entire factory library is gone. I had initialized the internal drive for a project. So everything is gone and I'm trying to recover it somehow. In my experience the Emax HD SE is just a unique instrument like the Fairlight CMI, you know? You can use something else, but I want to get my Emax back. I feel lucky I still have it and that it's in perfect shape. Emu Systems? I thought their might be a guru still there that could point me in the right direction, but everybody I knew at EMU have long since gone. No return phone calls... I used to use Alchemy (Blank and Passport versions...). I think I can recover them and keep an old PowerPC devoted just to the Emax and Alchemy in my studio. I still have a couple of Alchemy samples left from my old library, and also from Digidesign SoftSynth programming. I used to transfer samples back and forth via MIDI to the Emax and an EIII via Alchemy. I'm now using Peak Pro, but have not yet had the time to try to hook it up to the Emax or see if it will even work. Does anybody have any tips, pointers, links, or advice for me? I see that there were some resources on the web at one time and now the sites are gone or the links are broken. Also, I'm trying to get the Emulator II library to convert for use with the Emax, and perhaps Drumulator samples, too. Any correspondence would be greatly appreciated. I have a huge amount of knowledge and am willing to share it, so if you respond please ask how I can help you and I'll tell you if I can or if I have the resources to do so. You might be surprised. I look forward to hearing from anybody regardless. :-) The very best to you all and happy holidays! Steven PS - I would recommend using Melodyne Studio to anybody who is serious about sampling and working with sound.
