New to this group, long time E-Mu addict... Emax SCSI Question

2009-01-26 by elmbeatz

Hi buddies!

let me intoduce myself:
My name's Elm, and I'm into E-Mu Samplers since 1990 when I got my
first Emax keyboard.
I've collected some of the 'old' E-Mus ever since then. Emax rack for
a start, then EI, EII, EIII and an SP-12 turbo.

As I really like the EII library a lot, I'd like to have access to it
with my Emax as well, and I know the power or E-Synthesist's EMXP.
As neither my keyboard, nor my Rack Emax have SCSI for mass storage
and fast access in-built, I'd like to know what kind of OS and what
kind of Emax Hardware (digitalboard rev) would be necessary to upgrade
it with that SCSI kit.

AND: What kind of drives can be recognized by the Emax with that
interface (Zip 100?).

Sorry - I'm sure that this has been discussed a thousand times before
here, but I haven't used the Emax for several years, and I'm kinda
noob again to it ;)

Greetz,
Elm.

Hello Greetz,

You can use the Zip 250 rather than the Zip100 (the 250 can also read
the 100 discs)
Here it is in the scsi chain, and both Emu IV; Emu III, and Emax II
can acces the Zip 250, between other mass storage devices

Hope it helps !
