Diagnostics?

Diagnostics?

2002-04-03 by raymattr@...

Hi

I'm just curious .... When an Emax starts up, does it usually start with
"diagnostics?" I would be curious to hear whose Emax does and whose does
not. Please comment if you have the chance. Any insight on this would be
interesting.

Thanks
Ray

Emax OMI Samples for Sale

2002-05-19 by Rob EmuArc

Hi.
Is anyone interested in buying Emax sample banks from the very high quality
OMI library? These samples were previously only available on two CDROM's for
Emax users with an OMI CDROM player (very rare!). The deal would work like
this...

OPTION 1 - Emax ZIP100
For 40 US Dollars you get a ZIP100 catridge with 36 Emax sample banks from
the OMI CDROM library that was released for the Emax in 1987.
You can choose from 17 different catridges, all at the same price. Shipping
would be free.
The catridge would work for users who have an internal or external SCSI
ZIP100 drive.
It is possible for some Emax users to upgrade to external SCSI, if you don't
have this already.

OPTION 2 - PC CD with 500 Sample Banks in EMX format
For 100 US Dollars you get a CD with all 500+ OMI sample banks in EMX
format.
Shipping would be free.
The user needs to create the Emax sample diskettes using EMX.
This solution is recommended for those that are familar with using EMX
successfully.

The list of sample banks is here:

http://www.emuarc.co.uk/Samplers/EmaxOverview/EmaxCDROM/emaxcdrom.html

The pricing is set by the cost of media and production, the number of sales
(expeted to be low), as well as a fairly large licensing payment to QUpArts
who own the copyrights for these samples. If there is sufficient interest
from users the EMX CD and/or the ZIP100 catridges will be available from
June 2002. This is a one off opportunity, and the project can only go ahead
if their are sufficient sales to pay for the license. If there was huge
interest (30+...) then the CD version could come down in price.

Please email me at info@... if you are interested, with your
preference for CD or ZIP and views on pricing.

Thanks

Rob

Hi,
Try a different CD player - the Emax II will only work with old SCSI 1 4x
type players. See if you can load presets rather than banks.
Look on our news page for details of a combined CDROM drive and ZIP100 1U
rack that works with the Emax II.
