PCD-50b Card drives- 2 left + 1 with cosmetic damage.

PCD-50b Card drives- 2 left + 1 with cosmetic damage.

2009-10-31 by Ted Summers

Currently available:
PCD-50b SCSI drives (used- they will be working as Single slot PC Card
drive in the Emax, but they are NOT new).

9 SCSI Upgrade kits ($50)
Slim Floppy converters ($17.50)

Again, as before- only the PC Card Slot works in the Emax.
--- I have not disabled the other slots. Emax just can't use them, it
is a limitation with the Emax----

If you install the drive in a PC with an appropriate SCSI card that
sees LUN's all slots should work.

The drives are still $30 USD +shipping.

I have one with a broken face (one strip of plastic is missing between
drive slots. That one I will sell for $25.

See at the bottom of the page-
pic # 4 (my keyboard with a CF drive (though not the one I am selling)
and slim floppy installed)
pic #5 the PCD-50b drive(s) I am selling
pic #6 - common PCMCIA adapters - you will need to buy one to use the
drive- this is not included, but they are readily available on ebay
and also at electronics retailers and camera shops also...
http://djtbs1.spaces.live.com/

if you wish to make your emax similar to my pic #4 with the PCD-50b
and slim floppy you will need to purchase a slim floppy (ebay has
them... I recommend TEAC FD05HG) and a slim floppy converter PCB
modified for emax, which I sell ($17.50).

Regards.
Ted

Emax II - Memory board unrecognised

2009-11-02 by Laurent/LIFELIKE

Hello guys

Sorry to change the subject here, but im stuck with a kind
Of a huge problem with my Emax II.
I got the 2213 model with 8mb board, everything was fine until
I decided to clean the 'monster' and chase the dust a couple of days
ago.
Once rebooted Emax didnt saw more than 1mb, tried to pull the board
off and
Check , still got 1mb, so the problem must come from Emax's eeprom.
After checking with other users it appears that i would need to
Reinitialise that eeprom in order to make the sampler "recognise" the
memory expansion again.
Im trying to get my hand on a floppy ZD413 that has the ability to
Initialise the emax eeprom or somebody who would have access to
The code response challenge that appears in the Diagnostic menu (after
typing 3629), submenu "adjust features".
I got all the Emax II manuals including the service manual and
None contains those damned code.
If somebody got that floppy disk or those code i would be glad to
Buy a copy from you.
Thank you all for your help in advance
