Emax

Do I really need the floppy drive?
Or can I just replace it straight off with my CF reader
after I have formated a CF card?

I think i read somewhere that the Emax II wont
start without it? Hope Im wrong.

There are two options, keep a floppy installed (slim floppy via Ted or regular floppy tucked away somewhere) or jumper the signal that tells the EMAX there's a floppy there (I forget which one off hand).  You will still need to set the SCSI boot ID via floppy one time regardless.
