ic chi problem

ic chi problem

2010-06-22 by RayH

hi all
so recently i pulled out my ic 13 chip from my emax thinking it needed to come out for the scsi mod. but when i put it back in and gave up on installing scsi. i turned on my emax and im stuck at please insert floppy after the floppy disk has been sitting in the drive
is it possible that i corrupted this chip?
and does anybody know where i can get another one?
thank you for any help

IC 13 is the Boot EPROM and is changed with the SCSI update.
I believe I have a Non-SCSI EEPROM around somewhere still- but it is most
likely you may have bent a pin or some such.

Why are you giving up on the SCSI upgrade?
If you are unsure of being able to complete it, send it to me and I can
complete it and test it for $50 (labor) + shipping. Just send your Emax
Logic, and the SCSI kit parts you have.

Regards,
Ted

I will have to look up IC 3 in schematics when I get home.... at work right
now.....
IC3 - shouldn't be removing that for SCSI update, though....
Only change IC 13, put in IC 6, and change the TIMPAL (IC 49).
Then the solder work, of course- but none of that involves IC 3.

Regards,
Ted

PS- as long as it isn't the scanner CPU or the Echip, I can fix about any
other problem.
