Hopefully you've backed up all your data first right?..... Download this small file it worked for me... This is a neat little trick however it may only work once and for how long is unknown.. You do understand you may have to purchase a new hard drive. This trick is only to recover data that may still be on the existing hard drive.. Wrap the hard drive in several plastic bags. Then put it in the freezer for at least 48 hrs. I know this sounds stupid but it has worked for me before on many ocasions.. I can't explain why it works. Check with a professional first, you will be surprized what they may say.. Let me know how it worked.. [Non-text portions of this message have been removed]

Any qualified service center should be able to fix it. If it's not powering up at all there is a
chance it could be something as simple as a blown fuse, but it could also be that the
entire power supply has burned out. I myself always send my equipment back to the
original manufacturer since they are most likely to have the parts in stock and are
quicker at trouble shooting issues. E-mu is up near Santa Cruz their address can be
found on my website: http://www.silveriafamily.com/emax

Hi, 1) Check the fuses - there should be an external fuse mounted next to the IEC socket on the back. 2) If there are no front panel lights at all and the Emax doesn't get warm (!), then the PSU should be suspected. 3) If some front panel lights come on, then these tell you what the problem is. Its a diagnostic code. To repair an Emax... 1) E-mu don't do any servicing anymore. They don't even have spare parts either. They have cut right back in staff numbers as they are having a tough time. 2) E-mu have 2 vintage product service centres in the USA. www.eprelectronics.com in LA is the one for you. 3) There are NO more spare Emax PSU's left - however EPR may have one ! 4) You can find a PC PSU that will do the job. oh and E-mu have a new online knowledge database that has some really useful answer on legacy kit.. www.emu.com If the Emax has permanently expired, you can still play all the Emax factory samples from a modern Ultra or ESI or the new Emulator 5 software sampler. The entire factory set of Emax samples are on the EIIIX factory CDROM's Vol 10 and 11 - these can still be bought new.
