No Power

No Power

Emax are quite famous because of dead power supplies when shipped. If you are skill with electronics (Just only in case of! high voltage inside), check to resolder all the PSU transformer pins. Also, check as many solder points as you can. It is very common to find some of them broken (I experienced up to two emax that way after being shipped).

Just my 5 cent.

definately never soldered anything before, maybe I would benefit from buying a new psu and trying that if I can't isolate the issue. Thanks :)

it might have a newer psu which did away with the red wires

on the old psu there is a relay that the 2 red wires go to when powered up it switched the 2 110v windings in series making it a 220-240 volt transformer primary

Thanks Jammie this is a 220 euro version, the seller said he didn't cut anything so you're probably right. I'm going to check out the service manual again, it's very frustrating because I've checked everything I could think of already. So you think maybe a new psu board will do it?
