I could never get the emax se to do sds... nothing I could find supports it's 12 bit either.. even my old Prophet 2000 12 bit sampler will take 16 bits... throws away the extra bits... why didn't emu do this???  Nicholas... PS has ANY one ever got soundforge to work with a Emax 1???

I used Samplevision GEM (DOS) and Sound Forge (version 1.0d I think) for quite a 
while with my Emax SE HD and it worked fine. I think the issue I ran into eventually was 
that the newer sound cards were no longer able to playback 12 bit samples. I remember 
having to set-up custom resolutions to match the the odd ones the Emax and even the 
Emax II use for that matter.
