Wanted to buy emax HD. Anyone willing to sell one?

Wanted to buy emax HD. Anyone willing to sell one?

2012-11-25 by jdchevallier

I'd pay a premium for it at this point out of desperation. I woke to see that one had been listed and sold last night on ebay for 350. My heart broke. I've been looking for the better part of a year and haven't had any real luck. I thought I'd post in the forums as a last ditch effort. If anyone's willing to sell me one or point me in the right direction I can't tell you how much I'd appreciate it.

Thank you!

Joel

You do know you don't have to get an HD model, right?

I sell the scsi kits to upgrade any v2 or v3 to SCSI / HD...

Thx,
Ted

Ted,

I've never soldered before, or done any electronic work before so I'm a bit apprehensive about doing the mod myself. I'm guessing if I found an emax online getting the seller to pop it open and confirm the revision of the board might be difficult as well.

Do you know anyone that would be willing to do the mod for me for a fee?

Thank you so much for the response!

Joel

Re: [emax] Re: Wanted to buy emax HD. Anyone willing to sell one?

2012-11-26 by Ted Summers

If you are in the US I do it for a flat $50 install fee.
basically - $52.50 for the kit, $50 for the install, shipping to return it.
I only need the LOGIC board, not the audio board or any other parts.

I verify boot operation from SCSI after the mod, format HD, read and write bank.

If you are in Europe, Jammie can do the mod. I don't know what he charges.

If you picked up a unit with rev1 board (not upgradeable), I believe Jammie has a couple spare boards and it could be swapped out.

I haven't had any seller who either didn't know the rev or wouldn't open it up.

version pics to determine what it is are at my site

Regards,
Ted

Ted,

Thanks for offering the kits and being willing to do the upgrade. Sincerely.
That said, last night I stumbled onto an HD keyboard that had just been listed on ebay with a buy it now price of 150 and 40 shipping to me. I couldn't pass the deal up. Hopefully it will work without any issues!

I can't tell you how grateful I am for the forum and the huge wealth of information about this samplers that's available here.

See you around the forum!

Re: Wanted to buy emax HD. Anyone willing to sell one?

2012-11-27 by jdchevallier

Thanks Brad! There's a certainly an enormous wealth of technical knowledge on this forum that will be an invaluable resource to me going forward. That said, and perhaps I've overlooked this, but do members here share music they've made with their emaxes? Techniques they've used?

These wonderful machines certainly need to be maintained, but this simply to facilitate the creation of music no? I'd love to hear what you all have written and share some of my own songs as well.

Sorry if my enthusiasm is a bit over the top right now...just a bit elated.

Cheers!

Joel

Whoo lucky you, all the ones I stumble upon around here were stupidly expensive, but that's France, each time something gets a little rusty they try to sell it to you as it is la joconde!
