I think they are all different from one another but the EML101, with its 4 oscillators can sound fatter to me than almost all the Moogs and ARPs for sure. The only exception might be a modular system with 4 or more oscillators. The 101 also has a really different tone to it. I consider it "dirty". EML are great machines and sound like machines more than Moogs and ARPs, which tend to have a more organic quality to them, at least in my opinion. I put the EML101 up there with the Minimoog and ARP 2600 - these are all synths which I would not want to be without. I have a spare EML101 up on eBay right now. Its in great condition. I also have a 2600 up there now but its about to end shortly. I will post a link in the next message. >From: "spogfrawne" <spogfrawne@...> >Reply-To: emlsynth@yahoogroups.com >To: emlsynth@yahoogroups.com >Subject: [emlsynth] Moog vs. Eml 101 >Date: Thu, 06 Nov 2003 03:13:16 -0000 > >Would you guys say the EML is Fatter sounding and more >versatile than the Moog or ARP? > _________________________________________________________________ MSN Shopping upgraded for the holidays!
