If the HDD is running properly the OS should be loaded on it and you should not need to boot from floppy. Most of the time the FDD failure is due to loose connection and dirty heads on the cluster. If in fact there is a problem when you power up it very well could be the HDD (hdd light will flash intermittent pattern). Need to know more specifics on events at power-on... Doug
