I couldnt seem to find in the manually an 'Ideal' setup for your instruments and their audio files. Right now I have my sample instruments organized the following way. .EXS File is in its own folder (possibly along with others) and then I have the audio files in a folder that is located in the same folder as the sample instrument. Example: Harddrive/SampleInstruments/Drums/CoolDrums.exs Harddrive/SampleInstruments/Drums/CoolDrums/Drum1.wav Harddrive/SampleInstruments/Drums/CoolDrums/Drum2.wav etc. I do not have the audio files in the same folder, but rather within another folder. This just keeps me more organized. I have seen instruments organized this way, and I have also seen them organized so that the audio files are in the same folder as the .EXS file. Is there a proper way to do this? I am wondering if it is taking my computer longer to find the files since they are in a folder within the folder. And since I usually have 'like' instruments together, the program may search through multiple folders. But I do make sure the folder containing the audio files is named after the .EXS file (except it is without the .exs extension). So i was thinking that it would check this folder first and should not effect the speed of loading. I have a Dual 867 G4 with 768 MB of Ram. And when I change instruments while this song is playing, it takes a while to load and usually gives me the overload error. But if I stop the song and then proceed to load the instrument, it is fine. Also, another I have to do sometimes is remove my one harddrive (just placing it in the virtual trash) because I have backups of my samples so I do not lose them in a computer crash. If I dont, when I load a instrument, sometimes asks me which of the 2 locations I would like to choose the audio files from. This becomes annoying. Pete
