unfortunately you are right, there is a limit ... alltough i diddn`t 
figure
out the exact number of sampler instruments
there is a maximum that the exs can handle. if you go over this 
amount your
description is the exact behave.
you did simply nothing wrong, so don`t even change anything on your 
machine.
this is not a specific pc problem but a logic bug in versions up to 
6.0 or
so ...
i was mentioning and complaining this a lot at emagic.
firstly they told me that this problem is not existing, then after a 
while
they said that they are aware of this bug but it will never be fixed 
for pc
versions, only mac versions ...
a very embarrassing shot by emagic not bugfixing this "small" 
problem ... if
you switch to control mode you can access the dropdown menu, but 
without
understructures ... no real workaround there.
you simply have to live with it ...

anyone proove me wrong, please !!
