I haven't used Chicken Sys extensively but I do use CDXtract quite frequently to convert my AKAI CDs to EXS24 and it works perfect and is a joy to use. On Windows the interface seems a bit more straight forward and flexible thatn Chicken Sys. I've never tried a Roland CD though. The reason I use CDXtract instead of letting EXS do the Akai conversion is folder organization is a bit more flexible especially during the conversion process you are prompted with many options before the conversion begins so when it's done you can get started playing right away. If I use EXS to convert my Akai CDs I have to do some post follow up work to clean it up and organize. With CDXtract all the option are selectable before pressing the "Convert" button.
