Actually, no, they usually don't work correctly.  I looked into it deeper
and noticed that either my Korg Trinity which I'm using as the input device
has a fixed release velocity of 64, or Logic just defaults to that release
velocity no matter what is input.  My workaround was to manually adjust the
releases (huge task) to lower or higher values depending on the passage and
that helped, but way too time consuming for any practical use.

I would suggest you email Emagic.  This is a big problem and puts the EXS at
the back of the class as far as modern software samplers go.  The problem
effects many libraries from the Sam brass libraries to the VSL and beyond.
It's not the end of the world, but for a sequencer that makes the claims to
greatness that EXS does, it's time they added this feature.
