> 1) what "BIG" advantage(s) does that the Mach 5 have over the EXS24?

*The MachFive is able to "normalyze, loop, reverse, etc..." almost like an
Editor directly in his main Window, this is very creative.
*A lot of very good FX ( almost 50)
* machFive let you change samples in the Split while the song is playing...
no reload !
* You can load the DAT files from PlugSound in MachFive and all
UltimateSoundBank sounds (Charlie,UltraFocus etc...)
* tuner & Analyzer inside !
*If you create your own sounds, it is THE sampler.

> 2) what DISadvantage(s) does that the Mach 5 has compared to EXS24?

for the moment, I can say it use more CPU ( not so much), a little big on
screen ( I'm in 1024x768 res), the Ilok Key to insert every time you want to
use it ( you can let it plug but like everybody, we always need an USB ! :o)

> 3) does is the Mach 5 run "VERY" stable on LAMP 6.3.3 or Logic Pro?

I have no problem at all but I'm not a big Sampler user ( I like to insert
my voice or sounds in a sampler to operate some Fx ...... the only thing is
to allocate sufficiant memory to logic ( under OS9) to be able to run
smoothly...

> 4) side-by-side is the EXS24 as rich, advanced annd deep as the Mach 5?

because of those numerous FX, MachFive can be considered more in a sound
design view... programming is very easy to achieve in many ways and it is
very asy to transform sounds.
Filters are very good, LFO are Syncable, ADSR etc ...

> 5) which has a more user-friendly interface?

Exs24, but, if you want to edit , MachFive can take the hand !

> 6) is the Mach 5 as easy to learn & operate as the EXS24?
yes, it is very Hardware like ( Performance/Presets/Samples).
MachFive is easier in terms of EDITING and much more powerfull because it
works in realtime !
