...And expand the zone to make it viewable without scrolling, 
once you have
hit a key on the controller keyboard (or the screen for that matter).

this is already possible (unless im misunderstanding)
go to 'zone' in the editor page, click on 'move selected to the top' 
and click on ' select zone of last played key'...next time you play a 
key the selected zone opens at the top of the page
